Amanda Colantonio is a licensed independent clinical social worker who uses an eclectic therapy model allowing her to utilize the most effective practices available to address each client’s individual needs. Amanda earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education in 2001 and her master’s degree in Social Work in 2011 from the University of South Carolina. She has worked in a variety of settings with diverse client populations. Her experience includes working in school systems with children who have behavior challenges, in shelters with women and children experiencing domestic violence, at community mental health centers advocating for clients and as an on-call crisis counselor. Additionally, Amanda has provided crisis intervention and support to patients in hospital emergency departments who are struggling with anxiety, depression, domestic violence, coping with family illness, family dysfunction, homelessness, PTSD, psychosis, substance abuse, and trauma.
Amanda’s current areas of focus for treatment are ADD/ADHD anxiety, behavior concerns, crisis intervention and support, depression, divorce, grief, family concerns, life adjustments, self-esteem, stress management, and work-related issues. Her passion is to help children, adults, and families cope with day-to-day life challenges to improve their quality of life.
